City of Laughter
Reflections:
"And remember," the voice said, "what is laughter but a moment of release where pain and memory are washed away? When we laugh, we are stronger. When we laugh, we heal the world."
Where have you felt the power of laughter in your life?
When have you laughed through pain? What did it make you feel?
Practice: Meditation
Skip goes to a morning meditation every day (pg. 40) to the tune of Greig's "Morning Mood" on a loop for an hour. Don't worry, I won't subject you to that.
For this meditation practice, you are invited to connect to your breath for the length of "Morning Mood" played one time-- a total of 1 minute, 44 seconds.
Activity: Painting the Night Sky
Dorrie uses paint to bring the her son joy and find peace herself through art. She paints the night sky, astronauts, and glowing orbs of flowers and memories.

I am not a great painter, but it does bring me joy. Sometimes it is easy to stop doing things because of a fear of imperfection, but the process itself is often the reward (plus the results could be surprising!). So I invite you to join me in painting the night sky and opening yourself up to the possibility of messy fun.
Fact vs Fiction:
